Dr. Michelle Phelan DMD, Dentist
Dr. Phelan attended the University of Florida for her Bachelor’s degree in Health Sciences and her Doctorate in Dental Medicine. She graduated magna cum laude from her undergraduate studies and received an award for Clinical Excellence and Professionalism while in dental school.
Striving to learn more after predoctoral education, Dr. Phelan attended The University of Texas Health at Houston for a one-year residency program in Advanced Education in General Dentistry. Throughout her experience, she not only gained 150 continuing education hours in just one year but also ample hands on experience with orthodontics, esthetic dentistry, implants and comprehensive treatment planning. During her residency she also became certified in laser dentistry and received 1st Place in the Star of the South Dental Meeting Scientific Table Clinics.
During her free time, Dr. Phelan enjoys keeping active by running, hiking or working out at the gym. She enjoys almost any activity even more if she can bring her golden retriever, Archer, along with her. Spending the day at the beach with family and friends is one of her favorite adventures. As a double Gator, she loves attending Gator sporting events and when time permits, she loves traveling.
Throughout Dr. Phelan’s dental education and career she has enjoyed volunteering her time abroad and in the local community. Using the unique skills developed in the recent years to help provide compassionate care to those in need is one of the most rewarding experiences for her.
Providing patients’ autonomy in their treatment plans is one of Dr. Phelan’s main goals. Her favorite part of dentistry is building a trusting relationship with each and every patient. Dr. Phelan values knowing the patient not just about their oral health. This relationship, knowledge and trust ensures patients are comfortable choosing treatment and during each appointment.
